OUT OF BOX

How far would you be able to go just to follow your dreams?
How many hindrances will you find in your journey before you give up?

When I was 15 years old, I realised that my passion and fascination about colours, layout, design, were bigger than just a hobby. Passion and work in the same place! It was great! I really thought I was very lucky. Thus, I studied Illustration and Graphic Design for 3 years. I finished my education in mid 2007.
A Economy World Crisis started in 2008. The creativity community was damaged massively in Spain. I spent the next 3 years working in small projects, in different companies for 2-3 months in each, and also, I became unemployed.
My motivation went down and I lost myself. Was I wrong?
Did this profession fit me?

In 2010 I went to International Illustration Fair of Bologna to take a break, to find answers. I realised that I wanted to work in Design-Illustration, I loved it, and I didn’t want to spend my life doing anything else. For a few years more, I tried to find that job which connected with my passion, with myself in Spain. I was not able to find it, but I got an awesome, enriching experience when I was president of Association of Illustrators of Madrid (APIM) for almost 2 years, where I worked on a main goal: to show that Design is a powerful tool in business as well as its key role, value in society.

However, my job search was unsuccessful. Then, an old thought came back to me: the World was very big. Always I had thought about London as its World leading in Design, one of the biggest vibrant, inspirational places to work as Graphic designer.
I remember the day I took the plane from Madrid to London, with a few personal belongings in a suitcase and my laptop,
with no ticket to return, saying goodbye to many things, without knowing the future, but with the excitement of taking a new path.

I have never been so successful before, I have never felt so alive before. Even working in a different sector in the beginning and the sacrifices I made. But now, I feel I am in the right place, following my dream which makes me feel honest with myself.
